That doggy Chi Fleahex Dr. Dobias
One of the most important things you can do for the health of your pup is to practice regular flea and tick prevention habits. Besides the creepy-crawly aspect, ticks and fleas can really pose a threat to our health and our dog’s health.
One tick alone can carry up to 9 tick-borne diseases that can make your dog ill, and some of them are very serious. The same things go for fleas, who can transmit pretty scary illnesses like typhus and the plague (yes! the plague!) to their four-legged victims.

Luckily, it’s pretty easy to keep fleas and ticks off your dog. But the bad news… Not all the products on the market are safe for all dogs.

Many of the popular flea and tick medications are marketed as safe for most dogs, but they are chock full of chemicals, can cause allergic reactions, seizures, and a host of other unpleasant side effects. A bad reaction to flea and tick medication is called pyrethrin or pyrethroid toxicity, and it’s essentially an attack on your dog’s central nervous system.

While these medications are often very effective against fleas and ticks, wouldn’t it be great if there was a natural, safe, alternative that was just as effective? Well, there is! And it’s called FleaHex and TickHex. It’s creator, Dr. Peter Dobias, is a Canadian veterinarian who has dedicated his life to healing dogs naturally. And while I love his entire product line, Flea Hex and TickHex are definitely amongst my favorite products.

Flea Hex and Tick Hex uses USDA certified organic, natural and plant-based ingredients to safely repel fleas and ticks and keep your dog pest free and healthy. When looking at doggy products, one thing I always pay attention to is the list of ingredients. The fewer I can recognize, the less likely I am to buy it.

Both the Flea Hex and TickHex Topical are made up of ingredients that I’m familiar with: neem oil, a blend of essential oils, and apple cider vinegar, for example.

While it works a little differently than the monthly medications you may be used to, it’s worth it to know that what you’re putting on your dog’s skin and fur is safe, natural, and effective.
